GMReis’ VersaLock Ankle System Introduced in the U.S.

GMReis has debuted its VersaLock Comprehensive Ankle System in the United States, helping expand the company’s footprint in the American orthopedic trauma market.

The ankle procedure was performed by Dr. Virosh Dharmadasa, in collaboration with GMReis dealer Parabellum-Medtech – Texas. The system performed as expected and demonstrated the versatility and quality of GMReis’ implants and instruments.

GMReis developed the VersaLock Ankle System to provide surgeons with a comprehensive single-platform ankle fracture fixation solution. Rather than requiring multiple systems to address different fracture patterns, VersaLock brings together a broad range of fixation options designed for both routine and highly complex ankle trauma.

The system includes various fibula, posterior malleolus, anterolateral tibia, and medial tibia plates, with configurations ranging from small to extra-long options. It also incorporates mini-fragment plates and cannulated screws, providing additional flexibility for fracture-specific fixation and smaller bone fragments.

Beyond plating, the system provides solutions for associated soft-tissue and syndesmotic injuries. Surgeons have access to flexible syndesmosis fixation buttons as well as knotless anchors for AITFL augmentation, allowing different components of a complex ankle injury to be addressed within the same comprehensive platform.

A key concept behind VersaLock is procedural readiness. Complex ankle fractures can present unexpected fixation requirements once reduction and reconstruction begin. With multiple implant families, lengths, configurations and complementary fixation technologies organized across several trays in one comprehensive system, surgeons can have the options they may need immediately available in the operating room.
